How does one describe oneself? … and be really
honest? Besides…. what do people really want to
I am a retired counsellor and live with my wife in the
outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Retired
meaning that I may have ceased being formally
involved in the paid workforce, but not retired from
living. How can one ever do that? Life is meant to be lived to the
I say forever, because I believe firmly in the fact that I am a created
being, made in the image of God, and having wandered away from
Him, have been fully restored to God’s family, through the amazing
gift of His son, Jesus, who has given me this privilege, plus, life
eternal, simply because I believe in Him.
How good is that?
So why do I write about the things in this site?
Over many years of sitting with people, listening to their problems,
distress, fears and concerns, it became abundantly clear that
believing in a future made perfect was one thing, but living the day
to day life here on this earth is another. And this, most people find
Much of the difficulty centres around three problems. We are very
unclear about what and who we are, many have become separated
from their maker by becoming bogged down in religion, and thirdly,
we are meant to live in community. But living with and around others
means understanding our relationship to others and having the skills
to communicate effectively and appropriately. And in this area, we all
struggle at times.
It has been astounding to see how prevalent these three problem
areas are in our world. It matters not how educated we are, how
affluent we are or what our job is. Most people struggle with a
healthy sense of self and have problems relating to others, including
God … at least some of the time.
I have found there is much joy and peace of mind to be had when we
learn the truth about what and who we really are, and that by
learning a few simple skills, the art of getting along with others,
including God, becomes much easier and more enjoyable.
My goal in life is to see people everywhere, living in the joy, and the
peace of mind and heart, that is freely available to them.
When I’m not writing about all of the above, I just love being
outdoors in the garden, walking, bike riding, listening to good music,
going out for good coffee, and simply meeting new people and
getting to know them.
I hope one day I might even get to meet you..
…by the way, these books are free to download, with
no strings attached, simply because I believe the way to find joy in
life should be freely available to everyone.
While they are freely available, content is copyright. You are free to
pass it on, but please contact me if you wish to use the material in
