Forming a view of ourselves

… explore the possibilities
How do we Humans form a view of ourselves? Seems rather simple. I either like myself or I don’t. What’s hard about that? Plenty. It would be better to ask, “what’ right with it?” Human beings are far too complex to simply sum ourselves up as either good or bad, like or not like. Imagine going out for dinner at a fine restaurant and being served a magnificent meal. Halfway through the meal, the chef emerges and asks you, “How is meal? Everything to your satisfaction?” To which you reply, “I hate it”. “You hate it? Tell me sir, what’s the matter with it”? “I don’t like the way the food is arranged on the plate”. “Well”, says the chef, “aren’t you going to at least try it”? “No. I’ve decided I just don’t like it” I would find it somewhat embarrassing to be sitting next to you if that was your response, simply because the broccoli was on the wrong side of the plate and the carrots didn’t align up with the planets. Strange, but that’s exactly what some, in fact, many of us do. We decide to dislike ourselves simply because of something seemingly unimportant in the overall consideration of our life. Others go right through life, disliking who they are simply because they are believing things about themselves which are either lies or simply not true. Even more sadly… some of us never ever attempt to explore the joy that awaits us through discovering what and who we really are. The starting point for all of humanity is this. You can’t appreciate who you are until you discover what you are. Sounds crazy doesn’t it. Why don’t you check it out?
